Prior to co-founding Greenedge, Olaf had a 20-year career in energy trading. Beginning at the utility Vattenfall during his university studies, he progressed through various senior trading roles, firstly in continental power at EDF Trading before becoming a partner at Vitol. He also worked as a Director at Macquarie Bank, tasked with building out their European power and gas trading business.
Alongside his trading achievements, Olaf founded and developed a successful trader enhancement program, combining psychometric testing with coaching techniques to help traders reach their peak potential. He holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration and mechanical engineering from the Technical University of Berlin.
Prior to co-founding Greenedge, Valerio enjoyed a 20-year career establishing and leading energy trading desks in Europe. His initial focus was on Southern European power markets at EDF Trading, before leaving to join the commodities division as an Executive Director at Goldman Sachs. He later headed the proprietary trading team at Swiss utility Alpiq, with a broad mandate to trade across multiple energy products including carbon. Valerio holds a degree in Business Administration from Bocconi University.
Prior to co-founding Greenedge, Adrian began his energy market career in 2001 at Enron. He progressed to trading power at RWE Trading in the UK and Germany, before leading German & French long-term power trading at EDF Trading. He also worked as a Director in EMEA Commodities at both Deutsche Bank and Bank of America Merrill Lynch. His most recent role was based in Singapore as Head of Trading at the utility Sembcorp, tasked with building out their trading activities in the region. Adrian holds a BSc in Management Sciences from the University of Manchester and an MSc in Climate Change Finance & Investment from the University of Edinburgh.
Luca is a Professor and Chair of Climate Change Finance, and the Director of the Centre for Business, Climate Change, and Sustainability (B-CCaS). He has held the position of Visiting Scholar at the MIT Joint Program on the Science and Policy of Global Change, U.S.A. and the Research Center for Sustainability Science at Ritsumeikan University, Japan. Luca holds a PhD in Finance from the University of Zurich.
Fabian is a creative director and accomplished entrepreneur with over two decades of experience in retail, luxury brands, and finance. Throughout his career, he has distinguished himself by crafting powerful brand identities and pioneering marketing strategies. Fabian’s role is to apply his entrepreneurial vision and creative flair to shape the Greenedge brand.
René is a distinguished Swiss entrepreneur with a foundation in commerce and notarial practices. Over the years, René has showcased his business prowess through various entrepreneurial endeavors.
